New Semester

I can't believe that we're into another semester! It's going well so far, but it keeps me extremely busy. And Ryan has it worked out that he has plenty of time to study his spanish lessons. He'll be fluent in no time, I'm sure. He's also signed up lifeguarding and gets a good workout twice a week.

I have seven classes and I am feeling slightly overwhelmed, which I'm not sure why because I have enough time to get everything done. I have four gym classes which are amazing for getting me in shape. The first is my weight training class. Today we worked with heavy squat bars, medicine balls, and finished class with Alpines. (Doing a million stairs it seemed like.) I then went straight to Aerobics and we did kickboxing. I had a hard time keeping up because she was going so fast, but I still had loads of fun. I felt exhausted afterward, but I couldn't stop there, I had to get to Archery. My teacher thinks I'm really good. I would have to agree with him because I rarely missed the bullseye. If I was going to be in school longer I would take the next two classes. Ryan says he wants to get me a bow. I would certainly be okay with that. :) When lunch was over I went to my beginning piano class, which I thoroughly enjoy. It gives me a reason to start practicing again. Now that I'm not being forced to play, I am finding it quite relaxing.

Tomorrow I have volleyball with my friend Chris. It's been awhile since we've had one together, so this is really nice. He's always helping me improve my technique. With volleyball being one of my favorite sports, I'd like to actually be good at it. I hope we can get a volleyball net someday soon. Also on the agenda is church history which is fascinating to me - we're dealing with the apostasy right now - and I'm never board in that class. And last on the list is food science. I took that because I wanted to. I love Fridays because we get to mess with food. Last week we had an oatmeal cookie receipe where each partnership had to change one thing about the receipe. Mine was to remove half the margarine. Needless to say, it didn't turn out very good. But then, that's the point of the procedure.

Trying to get my daily schedule figured out has been a nightmare, but I think I'm starting to fall into a routine finally. Yea! Hopefully this week we'll both get a little more sleep!

Utah

Wow! It's good to be home again! I love seeing my family and friends! It's nice to be able to catch up on sleep too. I miss Ryan a lot though. He's at home working hard at completing his certification to become a coach. I'm sure that will come in handy one day.

We're both enjoying our week off from school - I think both of our brains are dead. lol I'm scared to see what my brain will be like after graduation! lol I'm excited for school to overwith and my life to begin. I'll always look back on my BYU-I experience with fondness, but it's time to move on.

So I'm curious to know, when does everyone start their Christmas shopping? I usually start mine in July, but we'll see with graduation being the way it is. I'm just curious, that all. Let me know!

Migraines

I still can't believe I've had a migraine headache for about two weeks now! If anyone has any advice on how to get rid of one, I would love to hear about it. They ruin my day and I can't think properly when I have a headache this bad. For example, today at work I walked into the wrong building and I was there for 15 minutes before I realized it. And I'm having a hard time forming complete sentences. I must be pretty funny to talk to. It's a good thing finals will be over after tomorrow for both of us! Then it a few days of working, but mostly relaxing. Then, it's off to Utah for a mimi vaction for me. Hopefully Ryan won't starve.

Finals and Easter

I can't believe Finals and Easter are already upon us!!! Ryan and I are not too worried about our finals - ours all are on Tuesday and they're not a big deal. A little studying and we'll be fine.

I am so excited for Easter! I have plans for this weekend! Today I will be cleaning my house like a madwoman after I run all of my errands. I will also be boiling a couple dozen eggs. Tomorrow will be all about the Jello. I want to make Jello eggs and Jello beans with all of the molds I have. Also, I will be making a Jello cake. Easter is my Jello holiday. Plus, conference is this weekend, and I am excited to see what it has to offer for me. Saturday evening, I set up a blind date between my two friends Heidi and Chris. They are coming over to help me dye the boiled eggs.

Easter Sunday will be nice - I'll be baking a ham, making deviled eggs, and something with potatoes. Not too much, so I can sit back and enjoy conference with my husband and my friend Chris. I also want to start working on my sister-in-law's blanket. I can't wait for her to see it, and I hope I'm finished with by July when she comes up. (Well, at least, I hope she comes up.)

We're done with homework for the semester, so we're looking forward to just enjoying this weekend together.

The Future.

I am super excited this morning! Ryan got a raise! We've been waiting for this for so long, it's such a blessing! Congrats Ryan!

I'm starting to get things wrapped up for graduation - getting paper work turned in for the major change - arranging celebration parties (because it certainly is something to be celebrated). Mostly I'm focusing on school though and trying to actually enjoy myself because I know that I can never get this time of my life back. I'm super excited to be done with it; but just as I predicted, I'm going to miss it as well. But, there's no point in holding on intensely to the past - keep the memories, but keep your eyes forward to the future.

I will definetly look back on these five years with happiness - I met some of my best friends here, and most importantly of them all, my husband, who is the love of not only my life, but my eternity. We hope to be able to share our eternity with many children - but we're learning to be patient because whether by biological means or adoption means - they'll be ours, that's for sure.

Amy's School Decision

So just about all who know me know that I am really not into teaching. So I have been doing a lot of thinking and researching and praying and have decided (with Ryan) to head a different direction in life. I am know a University Studies major with a home and family minor with two clusters; one in clothing construction and another in education. We feel this is the best decision for us. I am more relieved and finally feel like life is going to work out again.

There are many career options for me now, so I am beginning to research what I'd like to do with my life if we can't have kids or if we can, what I can do to help out finacially while Ryan finishes school. I'd love comments on suggestions to help get me started. Or advice. Both is good too. :)

So, I'll be graduating on July 23rd!!!!!! I am so excited and I am making plans on what to do to celebrate! What a happy time in our life!!!!

New Moon Party Continued

The New Moon party was a hit!!! Thanks to all who came. Although, I made the same mistake, one of which I'm sure I'll never learn from, I made way too much food! I'm okay with having leftovers though.

It was so awesome to spend so much time with my friends; I'm glad they're supportive of my Twilight habit. That's how you can tell a true friend; one that will stick by you through all the twilight stuff.

For all of you that love or appreciate a good laugh about twilight, get on youtube and type in "Twilight what have you done to my wife." You'll laugh so hard I guarantee it!

New Moon Party

I am so excited for tomorrow because New Moon comes out on DVD!!! This is my favorite of the four books in the Twilight saga.

I wanted to celebrate like last year, so I'm having another party. Last year I had a party when Twilight came out, and I invited 20 people, but only like seven showed up. So I invited around the same number this year, and just about everyone said yes!!!! It'll be way chill to hang out with so many of my friends all at once!

I love the second book because I related to it so well - meaning that I've felt the same way Bella has; therefore, I feel like I have a kinship with the book. It's very internal, and I'm an introvert, so it just means a lot to me.

Ryan doesn't hesitate to let everyone know just how excited he is. Not! He can't wait for this weekend to be over. At least he's being nice about it. I know he's tired of all of this Twilight stuff, but at least he let's me be me.

I recently aquired a Twilight cook book, so I'm going to make something out of it for the said party. I'm excited to do tons of cooking for everyone! I think my mission in life is to feed people.

I am so excited, so I'll have to let you know how it goes.

My Ears

Random title, I know, but I was so excited that I had to share!

Yesterday, for the very first time, I got my ears pierced!!!! It's given me such a buzz because I never thought I'd actually do it! Ryan's not too happy because he never wanted to have to buy me earrings. Well, easy gift idea Ryan! He should know by now, I'm easy to please. lol That's one nice thing about being a simple person.

So contrary to what people might think, no, I've never had pierced ears, but I just want to say thank you to everyone who over the years have given me earrings. I just wish I would have kept them!

I used to think that I didn't want to get my ears pierced because I didn't want holes in my ears forever. Now I don't really know what I think, so I just did it on the spur of the moment. I think what pushed me to do it is from all the coaxing from my friend and neighbor, Jen. Jen you are amazing!

First Blog Ever!

Amy here, I've decided to finally make a blog. We all know how slow I am to switch to new technologies! lol

Ryan and I are both in school - I will be graduating next year, and Ryan hopefully will be graduating sometime in 2012. It's a slow process, but we know it's worth it. I think college is a true test of devotion to something you want to do.

I am majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (or FCS Education; you will here me refer to that often). I don't think I want to teach, but I probably will for a few years to pay off student loans. Teaching has never been a dream of mine, but who knows how life will turn out, right?

Ryan is majoring in Communications with a Broadcasting Emphasis. He hopes to be on TV someday. I'll admit that would be pretty neat to see my husband on TV just about every night because then, even if he isn't home, he's still in our home. :) Then, our kids will be able to see their dad even when he isn't there.

A lot of people have been asking if we have kids yet. In this area, it's actually common for people to have a baby within the first two years of marriage. Just about all of our friends that are married do. We've been married three and a half years, and no, we don't have any children yet. For some reason, a lot of people think that we already have two because we've married this long. I just explain to them, no we don't have any kids, and as much as we wished it would happen to us, it probably won't in the near future. We still trying to figure out why it's not happening. We would like at least three children, but I would in reality enjoy having seven or more. A big family is something that is very important to us and we're willing to adopt is having biological kids don't work out within the next five years. We've decided that if it comes to that, we'll adopt kids that are not newborns. If you think about it, there are so many kids in the system that are stuck there because so many people want a baby to bring home. We want the kids to know that when they join our family, they are ours for the rest of Eternity! They will be just as important to us as a biologically child.

And here I thought this would be a short blog! lol I just love writing.

Random fact about one or both of us:
Amy's favorite food right now is Mentos. Yes, I know that they're a fruity mint, but when you have no appetite, you've got to eat something!
